How much fruit juice is in Rockin’ Water?

There is no fruit juice in Rockin Water. The great taste comes from all natural flavorings along with 9 grams of pure cane sugar per bottle and also stevia.

Is Rockin’ Water healthier than fruit juice?

In many ways, yes it is. For 3 key reasons:
  • Rockin’ Water has only 34 calories per standard 8 oz serving and for this reason it is healthier than 100% fruit juice and many “juice drinks” (which often have only 10% fruit juice). Those drinks typically have 75 – 100 calories per serving. 100% Fruit Juice typically has around 25 grams of sugar per serving. Rockin’ Water only has 6 grams of pure cane sugar per standard 8 oz serving.
  • Also, fruit juice and juice drinks rarely contain any fiber. Rockin’ Water contains 3 grams of fiber per bottle.
  • Finally, fruit juice and juice drinks typically only have a few added vitamins. Rockin Water contains 10 essential vitamins and minerals selected especially for children.

Why does Rockin’ Water contain fiber?

Rockin' Water contains 3 grams soluble fiber, also know as Maltodextrin. Soluble fiber helps maintain healthy intestinal regularity. It maintains healthy blood glucose levels and subsequent insulin response. Fiber helps increase probiotic levels in the large intestine, which can lead to improved immunity.

What is Stevia?

Stevia is the common name for Stevia Rebaudiana (also called Rebiana or Reb A). It is an extract which is used as an all natural sweetener that contains no calories. More specifically, Stevia Rebaudiana is a species of plant that grows in South America. The leaves have a sweet taste with no caloric or carbohydrate impact and therefore no effect on blood glucose levels. Sweetness is extracted from dried leaves using a water extraction process.
Stevia has been used as a sweetener for more than 20 years in many countries including Brazil and Japan. In 2008, the United States FDA granted approval of Stevia for use as an ingredient in Food and Beverages. Many commercially available food and beverage products are using stevia.

What’s the difference between bottle size and serving size?

Rockin’ Water comes in 12 ounce bottles. On our bottles we indicate nutritional values based on the entire bottle (because most kids will drink the entire bottle). Each bottle contains 9 grams of pure cane sugar and 50 calories.

A long time ago, the government set the standard beverage serving size at 8 ounces. Some beverages indicate nutritional values based on this 8 oz “serving size” (for bottles that are 16 oz or 20 oz, we think this is a little misleading because people normally drink the entire bottle). Also, larger beverage containers that go in your refrigerator (64 oz \ bottles) always indicate nutritional values on an 8 oz serving size.

So that you can make equal “apples to apples” comparisons to all other beverages (regardless of size), on our web site we indicate calories and sugar content on this standard serving size. Rockin’ Water has 6 grams of pure cane sugar and 34 calories per 8 oz serving.

Is Rockin’ Water healthier than plain water?

For active kids with an average American diet that typically does not include enough sources of fiber, it could be suggested that Rockin Water, in moderation, is a better choice than plain water because it has 3 grams of fiber and 10 essential vitamins and minerals.
However, Rockin’ Water does contain pure cane sugar and therefore calories that plain water does not. So for individuals with a calorie restricted diet, plain water is the best beverage choice.
Also, Rockin’ Water has a better taste than plain water and is often preferred by kids over plain water. And, it is certainly a better choice than typical, high-calorie beverages including soft drinks, sports drinks, juice drinks and 100% juice drinks.

Why does Rockin’ Water have color? Or added sugar? Or added flavoring?

Hydration is important for kids, along with the fiber and essential vitamins and minerals that are contained in each bottle of Rockin’ Water. But we’ve found that many kids don’t like drinking plain water because the “taste is boring” and there are kids that don’t like the taste or texture of other fortified beverages.
We wanted to make sure kids really wanted to drink Rockin’ Water. That’s why we added all natural coloring and flavoring and a relatively small amount of pure cane sugar – to create a healthier beverage that kids love to drink.
